Aircraft model kits

Aircraft model kits are probably the most popular group of plastic model kits. Many modellers choose an airplane for their first model kit because of the rather simple construction and a variety of starter sets that have already proper paints and glue included. Such sets are reasonably priced making entry into the modelling hobby very accessible. The success of airplane kits is contributed by historical movies that spread the knowledge about WWII aircrafts or various air shows. Because of all that we have a large selection of aircraft model kits available right in our shop.

Aviation is a very varied group of model kits.

It consists of fighters, bombers, transport planes and helicopters. You can also choose your model kit according to the wing placement - you can choose monoplanes, but there are of course bi- and even triplanes. For those who fancy new technologies there are a whole lot of jet or passenger aircrafts to choose from.

How to choose an aircraft model kit

Have you skimmed through our aircraft model kits category and can't decide what to choose? Let's sort out the facts. Easiest way is to follow your heart. Experienced modeller can successfully take such a blind shot, because he can overcome any potential problems with the kit - should they arise. Less experienced however must choose more wisely. Two most popular scales in aviation are 1:72 and 1:48. Model kits in 1:72 scale would be smaller thus having less parts and lower price. Further it's more a case of interest. Maybe you're a history enthusiast who prefers aircrafts from the WWII era. Or maybe the other way round - you prefer jets and the more modern they are the better. For the beginners we don't really recommend biplanes, as constructing and aligning their wings requires some modelling experience. Starter sets in 1:72 scale, which have both the kit and a basic paint set are a good choice. Our staff is ready to be of help should you have any doubts. If you're an advanced modeller, then you probably know quite well what you want: an aircraft model from a specific historical period, specific unit or country. Kits in larger scales like 1:48 or 1:32 usually have more room for emphasising details, they put more of a challenge before the modeller and as such they are a natural way of progressing on a modeller's path.

Popular aircraft model kits

Aircrafts from the WWII period are a popular choice: Supermarine Spitfire, Hawker Hurricane, Messerschmitt 109, P-51 Mustang or Junkers Ju-87. On the other hand there are modern constructions of jet planes: F-16 Falcon, F/A-18 Hornet, JAS-39 Gripen or Eurofighter Typhoon. Polish aviation history enthusiasts often choose Polish constructions like PZL P.11, PZL.37 Łoś or TS-11 Iskra or aircrafts with Polish accents e.g. those flown by Polish pilots like Stanislaw Skalski or with Polish insignia. No matter the taste - we'll help choosing an aircraft fit to everyone!

Detail sets for aircraft models

Decal sets - if you haven't found a model kit in a marking scheme you were looking for, this might be solved by aftermarket decal set that are separately available for a given type of aircraft.
Painting masks - facilitates and speeds up the painting of a model kit.
Metal and resin details for aircrafts – like metal armament, Pitot tubes, instrument panels, seat belts or pilot's seats will add more realism to your model.
