Mr. Metal Color line of paints are metallic colours for paintbrushing.
Directions for use: apply the paint using a large, flat brush, wait for it to fully dry and the polish using a soft lint-free cloth. Other properties of those paints are similar as in Mr.Hobby C series paints and they can be thinned and used accordingly.
Mr.Hobby C series are the highest quality acrylic paints based on organic solvents. They have perfect colour rendition, large colour palette and have an unparalelled toughness and adhesion of their paint surface.
Paints have a distinctive, strong smell that comes from the used solvents and due to it, they are often wrongly referred to as nitrocellulose paints. Unlike other typical acrylic or vinyl paints, C series doesn't clog the airbrush and are easy to clean from the tools. Properly thinned, those are one of the best airbrush paints for model kits, that are available on the market. Full colour palette offers total of 220 aircraft, AFV, ship and car colours. They were developed to faithfully reproduce the tone and finish - matt, semi-matt or gloss - of the originals
Mr. Hobby series C paints are made to be used with an airbrush!
Brush painting - according to the manufacrurer - is possible, but our experience shows that it's very difficult and gives poor results. We don't recommend those paints for paintbrushing. If you don'r own an airbrush, we suggest that you use AK Interactive 3 Genacrylics, Vallejo Model Color or Hataka from B(lue) line acrylic paints.
Remember to stir the paint very well before use and thin it properly. You can use Mr.Color Thinner (available in 50, 110, 250 and 400 ml bottles) or Mr.Color Leveling Thinner (available in 110 and 400ml bottles). Using Levelling Thinner (with added retarder) makes painting easier and improves the final look of the painted surface. We recommend thinning at leat 1-1,5 parts of paint to 3 parts of the thinner ratio.
Mr.Color series C paints are very stable and in tightly closed jars can be stored for a very long time. However if after some time we discover that the paint became too thick, we just need to add some Mr.Color Replenishing Agent to bring back the proper consistency to the paint without changing its properties.
Paints are quick drying, but depending on the amount and type of used thinner, they may require up to 24 hours to fully cure on a model kit.
Paints are recommended for plastic model kits and figures but can also be used on metal or resin kits. They can be sprayed straight onto the material, but we always suggest priming the surface with a proper primer.
