Resin parts are additives that enrich the model to be glued together - they can be cast or 3D printed.

They make it possible to render much more and much finer details than possible with injection molding technology. Resin parts are also used to add detail to the model, which can result in the need to cut and rework some plastic parts. For short run production models, they can be a necessary part of the kit.

Photoetched elements made of brass sheet are one of the most popular additions to unassembled plastic model kits.

Their production technology makes it possible to obtain very small and delicate details, unattainable with injection molding technology. Most often, they are a much better-looking alternative to instrument panels, catches, hangers, mounts, air intake cover grids, etc. For models produced with short run technology, they can be an essential part of the kit. Photo-etched parts most often require bending them according to etched lines to achieve the desired shape.
