Plastic model kit of the Douglas DC-3 Conroy Tri-Turbo-Three
The A&A Models 7246 kit represents the experimental Conroy Tri-Turbo-Three version of the famous Douglas DC-3. This rare modification was an ambitious attempt to modernize the legendary Dakota by fitting three turboprop engines – two mounted on the wings and one additional in the nose. Although only a prototype was built, it remains one of the most unusual chapters in the history of DC-3 conversions.
The kit includes:
- plastic sprues with detailed parts
- decals with Conroy Tri-Turbo-Three markings
- clear assembly instructions

The Douglas DC-3 is one of the most iconic aircraft of the 20th century, serving as a basis for numerous conversions. Among the most unusual was the Conroy Tri-Turbo-Three, modified with three turboprop engines to boost performance and extend the aircraft’s service life. Although the project remained at the prototype stage, it stands out as an extraordinary example of engineering ingenuity and the enduring potential of the DC-3 design.
