A&A Models 7255 is a self-assembly kit reproducing the Boom XB-1 supersonic technology demonstrator, known as 'Baby Boom'. This slender, three-engined design with a composite airframe was used by Boom Supersonic to test solutions intended for the Overture supersonic airliner.

The model is produced using short-run injection technology. The kit is supplemented with a photo-etched fret that also carries painting masks, and with decals printed by the Cartograf studio.

Building the model:

As a short-run kit, 7255 is aimed at experienced modellers — the parts require careful clean-up of sprue-gate marks and test-fitting. The included masks make it easier to paint the canopy glazing.

The distinctive scheme of the demonstrator aircraft is based on white with black accents. The decals are best applied over a gloss coat, and the finish sealed with a gloss or satin varnish suited to the smooth composite surface of the aircraft.

The Boom XB-1 'Baby Boom' is a supersonic technology demonstrator built by the American company Boom Supersonic as a scaled-down forerunner of the planned Overture supersonic airliner. The composite-built aircraft is powered by three General Electric J85 jet engines.
