Description

The Weathering Magazine is the only magazine wholly devoted to painting and weathering plastic scale model kits. This issue focuses on an unusual topic for the title: ready made die cast models with plastic parts, which are available in almost endless variety of topics for painting and weathering. We'll show you some simple and more advanced techniques used while working with ready replicas and we'll point out the most common drawbacks of such models e.g. how to hide visible screws or removing the too thick layer of original paint. We will explain which techniques are most approperiate for locomotive in H0 scale, tracked tractors or collectible Star Wars figures. What is more we'll show you how to bring life to a racing car's model or excavator miniature and how to transform a small, toy bus into a realistic replica. We'll make a shiny fire engine an abandoned, junkyard vechicle and we'll paint a preassembled plane to make it look like a much more sophisticated model. As usual we present the techniques in an detailed "step by step" way, with detailed, high quality photographs and comprehensive descriptions that are done by the best modeller's in the world.
