About the HMS Suffolk heavy cruiser:

HMS Suffolk was one of the County-class heavy cruisers built for the Royal Navy during the interwar period. Commissioned in 1928, the ship took part in numerous operations during World War II. It became especially famous for its role in the hunt for the German battleship Bismarck in May 1941. Equipped with radar, HMS Suffolk maintained contact with the German force and continuously reported its position to the British fleet. This tracking effort helped the Royal Navy eventually intercept and sink Bismarck. The cruiser also served in the Atlantic and Far East, escorting convoys and supporting Allied naval operations.
