About the heavy cruiser Prinz Eugen:

Prinz Eugen was the third ship of the Admiral Hipper class and one of the most important heavy cruisers operated by the German Kriegsmarine. Launched in 1938, the ship entered service shortly before the outbreak of World War II. Its most famous mission was Operation Rheinübung in May 1941, when it sailed into the Atlantic together with the battleship Bismarck. During the Battle of the Denmark Strait, the German force sank the British battlecruiser HMS Hood. Later in the war, Prinz Eugen operated mainly in the Baltic Sea, providing artillery support for German ground forces. After the war, the ship was taken over by the United States and used during the Operation Crossroads nuclear tests at Bikini Atoll.
