Usage tips:

Moisten a brush or cotton swab with Pigment Remover and gently wipe the area where pigment is to be removed. Repeat as needed. Avoid rubbing too hard, especially on delicate finishes.

Modeling pigments – a simple and effective way to enrich your model with realistic effects

Modeling pigments are most commonly found as dry powders in 35 ml containers. Their color range includes earthy and sandy tones ideal for simulating dirt, dust, and mud, as well as metallic shades and other effects like soot or oxidation. Pigments can be applied in different ways – rubbed into the surface for subtle finishes or sprinkled on heavily to replicate caked-on dirt. They can also be mixed with water or odorless thinner to create washes or streaking effects, or blended with acrylic pastes to produce thick mud or textured ground in chosen shades.

As long as they are not fixed with a fixer, excess pigment can easily be removed using a cotton swab moistened with water or white spirit – this allows you to make corrections or reduce the intensity of the effect as needed.
