3D-printed spoked wheels - precise running-gear detail

Thin spokes and a delicate hub quickly lose definition in injection moulding. 3D printing preserves that detail, capturing the spoke pattern, hub profile and tyre texture. Within the range, the difference between this wheel and the 810 x 125 mm version comes down to tyre size, so choosing the right size depends on the specific aircraft being modelled.

The parts are attached with cyanoacrylate glue. Before painting it is worth gently cleaning the surface of any print-support marks. Airbrushing is recommended, treating the tyre and the metal part of the wheel separately. Exposed spoked wheels work well on models with visible wheels, on damaged machines and in post-war schemes.
