Alongside the LööK set (painted resin instrument panel and steel belts) it includes further resin and 3D-printed details as well as masks, so that a single purchase comprehensively improves the most important parts of the model.

The individual elements are fitted according to the instructions supplied with each accessory; resin and printed details are secured with cyanoacrylate adhesive. It is a convenient solution for modellers who want to raise the level of detail in several areas at once.

About the aircraft – Focke-Wulf Fw 190D-9:

The Focke-Wulf Fw 190D-9, known as the "Dora" or "Langnasen-Dora" (long-nosed Dora), was a development of the Fw 190 series powered by an inline Junkers Jumo 213A engine instead of the BMW 801 radial. The lengthened nose and redesigned rear fuselage substantially improved performance at higher altitudes, making the aircraft one of the best German piston fighters of the late war.

Entering service in the autumn of 1944, the D-9 fought in the Defence of the Reich and covered the airfields from which the Me 262 jets operated. It combined high speed, good handling and heavy armament, although its effectiveness was limited by fuel shortages and a lack of experienced pilots in the closing period of the Third Reich.

Original specifications (Fw 190D-9):

  • Length: approx. 10.2 m
  • Wingspan: approx. 10.5 m
  • Crew: 1
  • Powerplant: Junkers Jumo 213A inline engine, approx. 1,750 hp (up to approx. 2,100 hp with MW-50)
  • Maximum speed: approx. 685 km/h
  • Service ceiling: approx. 12,000 m
  • Armament: 2 × 13 mm machine guns and 2 × 20 mm cannon
