Resin elements are add-ons that enrich the model to be glued together - they can be cast or 3D printed.

They allow rendering much more and much finer details than possible with injection molding technology. Due to the ease of production, resin parts are also often found to correct improperly designed details in a plastic model. Resin parts are also used to add detail to the model, which can result in the need to cut and rework some plastic parts. For short run production models, they can be a necessary part of the kit.

It was originally best known for producing photo-etched (and later resin) add-ons for plastic models, in which it is still the undisputed leader. Eduard's models consist of a considerable number of parts with a very good fit and a very high degree of detailing. The "Profipack" kits include, in addition to the model, extras and masks for painting and are aimed at modelers with experience in the hobby. "Weekend" kits are plastic model without add-ons and are aimed at beginner modelers.
