Pre-painted photo-etched set – ready-made cockpit interior details

Eduard's pre-painted (colour) photo-etched sets reproduce the instrument panel, side consoles and cockpit interior details, some of which are pre-painted and self-adhesive. They significantly raise the realism of the cockpit without the need to paint the small dials, and the thin photo-etched parts reproduce elements that are hard to achieve by injection moulding.

The pre-painted parts are applied directly to the cockpit components from the kit, while the rest are painted and assembled according to the instructions. Cyanoacrylate glue is recommended for fixing the photo-etched parts, and a photo-etch bender and precision tweezers are useful for folding the frets. The set is designed for a specific plastic kit.

About the aircraft – Messerschmitt Me 262A:

The Messerschmitt Me 262 Schwalbe was the world's first operational jet fighter to see combat. Powered by two Junkers Jumo 004 turbojets and fitted with swept wings, it held a significant speed advantage over Allied piston-engined fighters. The A version was the basic fighter and fighter-bomber variant.

Despite its groundbreaking design, the Me 262 appeared too late and in too small numbers, and its potential was limited by unreliable engines and fuel shortages. It nevertheless remains one of the most important aircraft in aviation history.

Original aircraft specifications (Messerschmitt Me 262A):

  • Length: approx. 10.6 m
  • Wingspan: approx. 12.6 m
  • Powerplant: 2 × Junkers Jumo 004 turbojets
  • Maximum speed: approx. 870 km/h
  • Crew: 1 pilot
  • Armament: 4 × MK 108 30 mm cannon
  • Manufacturer: Messerschmitt
