Eduard CX094 is a set of self-adhesive 1:72 masks for painting the canopy framing and other glazing, and the wheel hubs, tailored to the H-19 / S-55 model from Revell / Italeri. The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, giving sharp edges without hand masking with tape. The base kit is not included.

Self-adhesive painting masks – crisp canopy frame edges

Eduard masks are self-adhesive stencils die-cut from low-tack yellow Kabuki masking paper suited to delicate model surfaces. They cover the clear areas of the glazing and leave only the canopy framing exposed, so that after airbrushing you get sharp, even frame edges – hard to achieve when masking by hand with tape.

The recommended method is to apply the masks to clean, degreased glazing, press the edges down firmly and then airbrush the paint. Once the paint has dried, the masks are removed. The masks are intended for single use and should not be left on the model for a long time.

About the aircraft – Sikorsky H-19 / S-55:

The Sikorsky H-19 (company designation S-55) was an American transport helicopter that entered service in the early 1950s. A distinctive feature was the radial engine mounted in the nose behind clamshell doors, driving the rotor above the cabin through a shaft. This arrangement freed a spacious cargo area and allowed the carriage of about ten troops or litter patients.

The H-19 was the first Sikorsky helicopter capable of genuine transport and rescue tasks and proved itself in combat during the Korean War. It was produced in many versions for all U.S. armed services and under licence in Britain, France and Japan. Later variants received more powerful Wright radial engines. More than 1,300 examples were built in total.
