Eduard CX109 is a set of self-adhesive 1:72 masks for painting the canopy framing and other glazing, and the wheel hubs, tailored to the A-37 Dragonfly model from Academy. The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, giving sharp edges without hand masking with tape. The base kit is not included.

Self-adhesive painting masks – crisp canopy frame edges

Eduard masks are self-adhesive stencils die-cut from low-tack yellow Kabuki masking paper suited to delicate model surfaces. They cover the clear areas of the glazing and leave only the canopy framing exposed, so that after airbrushing you get sharp, even frame edges – hard to achieve when masking by hand with tape.

The recommended method is to apply the masks to clean, degreased glazing, press the edges down firmly and then airbrush the paint. Once the paint has dried, the masks are removed. The masks are intended for single use and should not be left on the model for a long time.

About the aircraft – Cessna A-37 Dragonfly (light attack aircraft):

The A-37 Dragonfly was developed in the 1960s from the Cessna T-37 jet trainer, adapted for light support and attack duties. It retained the low-wing layout with side-by-side crew seating, with a strengthened airframe, more powerful engines and weapons hardpoints added. The aircraft was intended mainly for counter-insurgency and close support of ground forces, where its simplicity and ability to operate from rough airstrips were valued.

The type was widely used in the Vietnam War, carrying bombs, unguided rockets and gun pods on its underwing pylons. It was powered by two turbojets, with a fixed rapid-fire gun in the forward fuselage. After the war the A-37 was exported to the air forces of many Latin American and Asian countries, serving as an inexpensive attack and reconnaissance aircraft for decades.
