Eduard CX149 is a set of self-adhesive 1:72 masks for painting the canopy framing and other glazing, and the wheel hubs, tailored to the Fiat BR.20 model from Italeri. The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, giving sharp edges without hand masking with tape. The base kit is not included.

Self-adhesive painting masks – crisp canopy frame edges

Eduard masks are self-adhesive stencils die-cut from low-tack yellow Kabuki masking paper suited to delicate model surfaces. They cover the clear areas of the glazing and leave only the canopy framing exposed, so that after airbrushing you get sharp, even frame edges – hard to achieve when masking by hand with tape.

The recommended method is to apply the masks to clean, degreased glazing, press the edges down firmly and then airbrush the paint. Once the paint has dried, the masks are removed. The masks are intended for single use and should not be left on the model for a long time.

About the aircraft – Fiat BR.20 Cicogna (Italian twin-engine bomber):

The Fiat BR.20 Cicogna (Stork) was an Italian twin-engine medium bomber, first flown in 1936. It was an all-metal low-wing monoplane with retractable landing gear, a modern design for its day. It was powered by two radial engines in underwing nacelles. The type entered service with the Italian air force as one of its standard bombers and was intended to form the core of its striking force before the outbreak of the Second World War.

The BR.20 saw its baptism of fire in the Spanish Civil War and was then used in the Mediterranean theatre and in raids on Britain in 1940. Against modern fighters its limited performance, weak defensive armament and small bomb load became apparent. The aircraft was also exported to Japan. As the war progressed it was withdrawn from front-line service and relegated to auxiliary and training duties.
