Eduard CX179 is a set of self-adhesive 1:72 masks for painting the canopy framing and other glazing, and the wheel hubs, tailored to the Go 229 Horten model from Revell. The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, giving sharp edges without hand masking with tape. The base kit is not included.

Self-adhesive painting masks – crisp canopy frame edges

Eduard masks are self-adhesive stencils die-cut from low-tack yellow Kabuki masking paper suited to delicate model surfaces. They cover the clear areas of the glazing and leave only the canopy framing exposed, so that after airbrushing you get sharp, even frame edges – hard to achieve when masking by hand with tape.

The recommended method is to apply the masks to clean, degreased glazing, press the edges down firmly and then airbrush the paint. Once the paint has dried, the masks are removed. The masks are intended for single use and should not be left on the model for a long time.

About the aircraft – Horten Go 229 / Ho 229 (German jet flying wing, prototype):

The Ho 229, also designated Go 229 after the Gothaer Waggonfabrik works, was a German experimental design from the end of the Second World War. It was a jet-powered flying wing, lacking a conventional fuselage and tail, of mixed wood-and-metal construction. It was powered by two turbojets buried within the wing on either side of the pilot's cockpit. The project aimed to combine long range, high speed and a fighter-bomber weapons load.

Only a few examples were built: an unpowered glider for testing and a powered aircraft that flew in early 1945. A further, more refined prototype remained unfinished and was captured by Allied forces. The aircraft never reached combat readiness and remained an experimental design. Its quoted performance figures, including maximum speed and ceiling, are largely estimated or based on design targets.
