Eduard CX204 is a set of self-adhesive 1:72 masks for painting the canopy framing and other glazing, and the wheel hubs, tailored to the SM.82 Marsupiale model from Italeri. • Mask placement instructions

  • Dedicated kit: SM.82 Marsupiale from Italeri
  • Accessory type: canopy painting masks
  • Material: yellow Kabuki masking paper, machine-cut

Self-adhesive painting masks – crisp canopy frame edges

Eduard masks are self-adhesive stencils die-cut from low-tack yellow Kabuki masking paper suited to delicate model surfaces. They cover the clear areas of the glazing and leave only the canopy framing exposed, so that after airbrushing you get sharp, even frame edges – hard to achieve when masking by hand with tape.

The recommended method is to apply the masks to clean, degreased glazing, press the edges down firmly and then airbrush the paint. Once the paint has dried, the masks are removed. The masks are intended for single use and should not be left on the model for a long time.

About the aircraft – Savoia-Marchetti SM.82 Marsupiale (Italian three-engine transport bomber):

The SM.82 Marsupiale was an Italian three-engine transport and bomber aircraft, first flown in 1939. It was a low-wing monoplane of mixed construction with a distinctive arrangement of three radial engines: one in the nose and one in each underwing nacelle. Its capacious fuselage could carry troops, cargo and even dismantled fighter aircraft, making it a versatile air transport for the Italian armed forces.

During the Second World War the SM.82 performed transport and bombing tasks in the Mediterranean theatre, North Africa and on long-range routes, including individual long-distance raids. Its load capacity and range were valued, though its speed performance remained modest. Some examples were later taken over by the German air force. After the war the aircraft continued to serve for a time with the Italian air force in the transport role.
