Eduard CX215 is a set of self-adhesive 1:72 masks for painting the canopy framing and other glazing, and the wheel hubs, tailored to the Pe-8 model from Zvezda. The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, giving sharp edges without hand masking with tape. The base kit is not included.

Self-adhesive painting masks – crisp canopy frame edges

Eduard masks are self-adhesive stencils die-cut from low-tack yellow Kabuki masking paper suited to delicate model surfaces. They cover the clear areas of the glazing and leave only the canopy framing exposed, so that after airbrushing you get sharp, even frame edges – hard to achieve when masking by hand with tape.

The recommended method is to apply the masks to clean, degreased glazing, press the edges down firmly and then airbrush the paint. Once the paint has dried, the masks are removed. The masks are intended for single use and should not be left on the model for a long time.

About the aircraft – Petlyakov Pe-8 (Soviet four-engine heavy bomber):

The Pe-8 was a Soviet four-engine heavy bomber, the only such aircraft produced in series in the USSR during the Second World War. It was designed in the late 1930s under the original designation TB-7. A low-wing monoplane of metal construction, it had four inline engines in nacelles along the wing leading edge and was intended to carry a heavy bomb load over long distances and at high altitude.

Because of production difficulties and shortages of suitable engines, relatively few were built. The Pe-8 flew long-range raids, including on Berlin, and carried the heaviest Soviet bombs of the period. It was also used to fly a government delegation over enemy territory in 1942. Successive variants received different engine types, and the aircraft remained in service until the end of the war and briefly afterward.
