Eduard CX290 is a set of self-adhesive 1:72 masks for painting the canopy framing and other glazing, and the wheel hubs, tailored to the Sea Hawk FGA.6 model from Hobby Boss. The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, giving sharp edges without hand masking with tape. The base kit is not included.

Self-adhesive painting masks – crisp canopy frame edges

Eduard masks are self-adhesive stencils die-cut from low-tack yellow Kabuki masking paper suited to delicate model surfaces. They cover the clear areas of the glazing and leave only the canopy framing exposed, so that after airbrushing you get sharp, even frame edges – hard to achieve when masking by hand with tape.

The recommended method is to apply the masks to clean, degreased glazing, press the edges down firmly and then airbrush the paint. Once the paint has dried, the masks are removed. The masks are intended for single use and should not be left on the model for a long time.

About the aircraft – Hawker Sea Hawk:

The Hawker Sea Hawk was a British single-seat carrier-borne jet fighter with a straight wing, powered by a single Rolls-Royce Nene turbojet. A distinctive feature was its bifurcated jet exhaust, venting on both sides of the rear fuselage, which allowed fuel tanks to be housed in the fuselage. The aircraft had folding wings and an arrestor hook for carrier operations.

The Sea Hawk served with the Royal Navy and the air arms of the Netherlands, Germany and India. In the FGA.6 version it acted as a fighter-bomber, carrying bombs and rockets under the wings. It saw action during the 1956 Suez crisis. Indian Sea Hawks served relatively long, taking part in the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War.
