Eduard CX346 mask set – canopy painting masks for the He 115 model (Revell) in 1:72 scale

Eduard CX346 is a set of self-adhesive 1:72 masks for painting the canopy framing and other glazing, and the wheel hubs, tailored to the He 115 model from Revell. The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, giving sharp edges without hand masking with tape. The base kit is not included.

Self-adhesive painting masks – crisp canopy frame edges

Eduard masks are self-adhesive stencils die-cut from low-tack yellow Kabuki masking paper suited to delicate model surfaces. They cover the clear areas of the glazing and leave only the canopy framing exposed, so that after airbrushing you get sharp, even frame edges – hard to achieve when masking by hand with tape.

The recommended method is to apply the masks to clean, degreased glazing, press the edges down firmly and then airbrush the paint. Once the paint has dried, the masks are removed. The masks are intended for single use and should not be left on the model for a long time.

About the aircraft – Heinkel He 115:

The Heinkel He 115 is a German torpedo and reconnaissance floatplane with twin floats, developed by Heinkel. The prototype first flew in 1937 and the type entered service before the Second World War. It was a low-wing all-metal design powered by two radial engines, with a glazed cabin housing a three-man crew. The design allowed take-off and landing on water.

The aircraft was used for torpedo attacks, minelaying, maritime reconnaissance and rescue duties, mainly over the North Sea and along coastlines. Some aircraft were exported to Norway and Sweden before the war. Power came from two BMW 132 engines. Various versions were produced, differing in defensive armament, equipment and powerplant details. In total about 500 examples were built.
