Eduard CX445 is a set of self-adhesive 1:72 masks for painting the canopy framing and other glazing, and the wheel hubs, tailored to the Fokker E.II Eindecker model from Airfix. The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, giving sharp edges without hand masking with tape. The base kit is not included.

Self-adhesive painting masks – crisp canopy frame edges

Eduard masks are self-adhesive stencils die-cut from low-tack yellow Kabuki masking paper suited to delicate model surfaces. They cover the clear areas of the glazing and leave only the canopy framing exposed, so that after airbrushing you get sharp, even frame edges – hard to achieve when masking by hand with tape.

The recommended method is to apply the masks to clean, degreased glazing, press the edges down firmly and then airbrush the paint. Once the paint has dried, the masks are removed. The masks are intended for single use and should not be left on the model for a long time.

About the aircraft – Fokker E.II Eindecker:

The Fokker E.II Eindecker is a German monoplane fighter of the First World War, part of the Eindecker family. It entered service in 1915. The design was based on a fabric-covered fuselage on a steel-tube frame and a wire-braced wing. Power came from a rotary engine. An open cockpit and fixed landing gear were typical of aircraft of the period.

The Eindecker's greatest asset was a synchronised machine gun firing through the propeller arc thanks to an interrupter mechanism. This gave German aviation an advantage during the so-called Fokker Scourge at the turn of 1915 and 1916. The E.II differed from the E.I in its more powerful engine and revised wing dimensions. It was built in small numbers before being replaced by the E.III variant.
