Eduard EX1190 is a set of laser-cut self-adhesive TFace masks intended for the Fw 190A-8 by Hobby Boss in 1:48 scale. The set covers both sides of the canopy, so the glazing framing can be painted from the inside as well.

TFace masks – masking the canopy from both sides

TFace sets are an extension of Eduard's classic masks: they contain masks for both the outer and the inner side of the canopy. This lets you paint the framing from the inside as well, so that the correct cockpit interior colour is visible through the glass — an effect impossible to achieve when masking only from the outside.

The masks are laser-cut from low-tack yellow Kabuki-type self-adhesive paper and also cover the wheel hubs. The recommended method is to apply the masks to a clean, degreased surface, spray with an airbrush and remove the masks once the paint has dried.

About the aircraft – Focke-Wulf Fw 190A-8:

The Focke-Wulf Fw 190 was one of the most important German fighters of the Second World War, designed by Kurt Tank's team. Unlike the inline-engined Bf 109, it was powered by a powerful BMW 801 radial, giving the aircraft excellent performance at low and medium altitudes, a high roll rate and a rugged airframe.

The A-8 version of 1944 was the most numerously produced variant of the entire "Anton" family. It received an additional fuel tank or a boost installation (MW-50/GM-1), reinforced armament and the ability to carry various field-conversion kits (Rüstsätze). The Fw 190A-8 fought both in the Defence of the Reich against Allied bomber raids and on the Eastern Front as a fighter and ground-attack aircraft.
