Eduard EX480 mask set – canopy painting masks for the B-1B Lancer model (Revell) in 1:48 scale

Eduard EX480 is a set of self-adhesive 1:48 masks for painting the canopy framing and other glazing, and the wheel hubs, tailored to the B-1B Lancer model from Revell. The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, giving sharp edges without hand masking with tape. The base kit is not included.

Self-adhesive painting masks – crisp canopy frame edges

Eduard masks are self-adhesive stencils die-cut from low-tack yellow Kabuki masking paper suited to delicate model surfaces. They cover the clear areas of the glazing and leave only the canopy framing exposed, so that after airbrushing you get sharp, even frame edges – hard to achieve when masking by hand with tape.

The recommended method is to apply the masks to clean, degreased glazing, press the edges down firmly and then airbrush the paint. Once the paint has dried, the masks are removed. The masks are intended for single use and should not be left on the model for a long time.

About the aircraft – Rockwell B-1B Lancer:

The Rockwell B-1B Lancer is a supersonic heavy strategic bomber of the US Air Force with variable-geometry wings. The program stems from the original 1970s B-1A design, which after cancellation was revived as the B-1B, optimized for low-level penetration. First flown in this version in 1984, it entered service in 1986. The variable-sweep wings combine high speed with good takeoff and low-level cruise performance, and four afterburning turbofans provide strong performance.

The B-1B was originally intended to carry nuclear weapons, but after doctrinal changes it was adapted for conventional missions. It has three large internal weapons bays carrying conventional and guided bombs as well as cruise missiles. The aircraft was used heavily in conflicts in the Middle East and Asia, where its large payload and range were valued. The crew consists of four.
