Eduard EX485 is a set of self-adhesive 1:48 masks for painting the canopy framing and other glazing, and the wheel hubs, tailored to the Do 215B-5 Nightfighter model from ICM. The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, giving sharp edges without hand masking with tape. The base kit is not included.

Self-adhesive painting masks – crisp canopy frame edges

Eduard masks are self-adhesive stencils die-cut from low-tack yellow Kabuki masking paper suited to delicate model surfaces. They cover the clear areas of the glazing and leave only the canopy framing exposed, so that after airbrushing you get sharp, even frame edges – hard to achieve when masking by hand with tape.

The recommended method is to apply the masks to clean, degreased glazing, press the edges down firmly and then airbrush the paint. Once the paint has dried, the masks are removed. The masks are intended for single use and should not be left on the model for a long time.

About the aircraft – Dornier Do 17 / Do 215:

The Dornier Do 17 is a German twin-engine bomber of the Second World War, a high-wing monoplane with a slender fuselage that earned the nickname Fliegender Bleistift (flying pencil). Designed in the mid-1930s as a fast aircraft, it carried a relatively small bomb load. It took part in the Polish campaign, the Battle of Britain and on the Eastern Front.

The Do 215 was an export development variant with Daimler-Benz DB 601 inline engines, used mainly as a reconnaissance aircraft and night fighter. The Do 17/Do 215 family was superseded by the larger Do 217. In total more than 2000 Do 17s of various versions were built, along with several dozen Do 215s.
