Eduard EX545 mask set – canopy painting masks for the MiG-25RBT model (ICM) in 1:48 scale

Eduard EX545 is a set of self-adhesive 1:48 masks for painting the canopy framing and other glazing, and the wheel hubs, tailored to the MiG-25RBT model from ICM. The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, giving sharp edges without hand masking with tape. The base kit is not included.

Self-adhesive painting masks – crisp canopy frame edges

Eduard masks are self-adhesive stencils die-cut from low-tack yellow Kabuki masking paper suited to delicate model surfaces. They cover the clear areas of the glazing and leave only the canopy framing exposed, so that after airbrushing you get sharp, even frame edges – hard to achieve when masking by hand with tape.

The recommended method is to apply the masks to clean, degreased glazing, press the edges down firmly and then airbrush the paint. Once the paint has dried, the masks are removed. The masks are intended for single use and should not be left on the model for a long time.

About the aircraft – Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-25, NATO Foxbat:

The MiG-25 was developed in the 1960s in response to fast, high-flying American aircraft such as the XB-70 bomber and the A-12/SR-71 reconnaissance planes. One of the fastest combat aircraft ever built, it could reach an operational Mach 2.83. Due to aerodynamic heating, its structure was made largely of stainless steel. First flown in 1964, it entered service in 1970.

Interceptor versions MiG-25P/PD/PDS and reconnaissance and reconnaissance-bomber MiG-25R/RB were built. Viktor Belenko's 1976 defection to Japan revealed the aircraft's secrets to the West. The MiG-25 was exported to Iraq, Syria, Libya, Algeria and India among others, and used in combat by Iraq. Around 1,190 examples were produced between approximately 1969 and 1984.
