Anti-glare panel masks – precise field outlines for spraying

This set contains masks outlining the anti-glare panels painted on the model skin. The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, giving sharp, even field edges without hand masking with tape.

They are applied over a painted, cured model, the chosen shade is airbrushed, and the masks are removed once dry. The set is intended for airbrush painting.

About the aircraft – B-17 Flying Fortress:

The Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress is a four-engine heavy bomber designed in the mid-1930s. It was an all-metal low-wing aircraft powered by four Wright R-1820 radial engines. Its name referred to its extensive defensive armament. The aircraft was created for high-altitude daylight bombing using the Norden bombsight.

The B-17 was one of the main American bombers in Europe during the Second World War, operating in large formations over Germany. Successive versions increased the defensive armament: the G model, the most numerous, received the distinctive chin turret with two 12.7 mm machine guns, improving forward defence over the earlier F model. About 12,700 aircraft were built in total.

Original specifications (B-17 Flying Fortress):

  • Crew: 10
  • Length: 22.7 m
  • Wingspan: 31.6 m
  • Height: 5.8 m
  • Empty weight: approx. 16,400 kg
  • Max take-off weight: approx. 29,700 kg
  • Powerplant: 4 x Wright R-1820-97 radials, 1,200 hp each
  • Max speed: approx. 480 km/h
  • Ceiling: 10,850 m
  • Range: approx. 3,200 km
  • Armament (B-17G): 13 x 12.7 mm machine guns; up to approx. 3,600 kg of bombs (typical)
  • Production: approx. 12,700 aircraft of all versions (1936-1945)
