Description

Eduard STEEL seatbelts for the Focke-Wulf Fw 190D-9 (MiniArt) model in 1:48 scale

The Eduard FE1588 is a set of pre-painted steel seatbelts tailored to the MiniArt Focke-Wulf Fw 190D-9 fighter model in 1:48 scale. The steel construction provides greater malleability, so the belts settle easily and naturally.

What's in the box:

  • Pre-painted steel seatbelts (photo-etched parts)
  • Illustrated assembly instructions

Set specifications:

  • Scale: 1:48
  • Catalogue number: FE1588
  • Manufacturer: Eduard
  • Dedicated kit: Focke-Wulf Fw 190D-9 by MiniArt
  • Accessory type: STEEL seatbelts
  • Material: pre-painted steel photo-etched parts

STEEL seatbelts – pre-painted, ready to fit

STEEL seatbelts are pre-painted photo-etched parts made of steel which, thanks to their greater malleability, bend easily and drape naturally on the seat. They reproduce the belts and buckles far more faithfully than the kit's plastic parts.

The belts are ready to fit straight from the fret; cyanoacrylate glue is recommended for fixing them. The set is designed for a specific plastic kit.

About the aircraft – Focke-Wulf Fw 190D-9:

The Fw 190D-9, known as the "Dora" or "long-nose Dora" (Langnasen-Dora), is a development version of the Focke-Wulf Fw 190 fighter in which the radial BMW 801 engine was replaced by the liquid-cooled inline Junkers Jumo 213A. The lengthened forward fuselage and the characteristic annular radiator improved its performance at medium and high altitudes.

The D-9 entered service in the autumn of 1944 and was regarded as one of the best German piston-engined fighters of the late war. It was used to attack Allied bombers and escort fighters and to protect Me 262 jet airfields.

Original aircraft specifications (Focke-Wulf Fw 190D-9):

  • Length: approx. 10.2 m
  • Wingspan: approx. 10.5 m
  • Powerplant: Junkers Jumo 213A inline engine, approx. 1,750 hp (approx. 2,100 hp with MW 50)
  • Maximum speed: approx. 685 km/h
  • Crew: 1 pilot
  • Armament: 2 × MG 131 13 mm machine guns and 2 × MG 151/20 20 mm cannon
  • Production: from 1944
