Details made from resin are made to enrich the look of a model kit - they can be either cast or 3D printed.

They enable to recreate much more and much finer details than it is possible with injection moulding. Thanks to the ease and low cost of manufacturing, resin can also be used in correction sets that replace wrongly designed plastic parts. Resin parts are also used to represent additional parts of a model which might result in need of cutting away and reworking of the plastic model surface. In case of short-run model kits resin parts might be an integral part of the set.

They protect the transparent parts of the model (like canopy, lenses etc.) and often also wheel disks. Also it is worth checking out wether the masks are covering whole canopy or there is a need to fill the central parts with masking fluid. Painting masks can be cut on a self adhesive foil or on a material similar to the self adhesive paper masking tape. Depending on the manufacturer and kit set might also include masks for the inner sides of the canopy.
