Assembly

About the battleship Nagato

Nagato was the world’s first battleship armed with 410 mm guns and was considered among the most powerful capital ships of its era. During WWII she took part in multiple Pacific operations, although Japanese command often used her cautiously. In 1944 she sailed with the Center Force during the Battle of Leyte Gulf. By this time her anti-aircraft armament had been significantly reinforced, reflecting the shift in naval warfare toward air power. After the war Nagato was used as a target ship in the 1946 atomic tests at Bikini Atoll.
