News from the grim darkness of the 41st Millennium and the Mortal Realms in a single issue. White Dwarf is the official Warhammer magazine — a monthly serving of new rules and scenarios, background, short stories, painting guides, interviews and miniature showcases, created by the Games Workshop studio for players and collectors.

The July issue, number 526, celebrates the arrival of Dawn of War IV: alongside a feature on the game itself you will find a stage-by-stage painting guide for the Blood Ravens Space Marines, and the transfer sheet included with the issue — 355 waterslide transfers — lets you bring the Chapter's colours to your own miniatures. Warhammer Age of Sigmar fans get a mini campaign fought over Anvilgard, and the issue is crowned by a battle report from the defence of Nan-Li in far-off Grand Cathay.

What's inside

The Warhammer 40,000 section opens with “A New Dawn”, a feature on Dawn of War IV, joined by the “Paint Splatter: Blood Ravens” painting guide, “Iron and Fire” — a look at some of the famous tank battles of the far future, a showcase of Mark Kilburn's heavily converted Genestealer Cults and Tyranids army, and the finale of the “Escalating Combat” series on growing an army all the way to 2,000 points.

In the Warhammer Age of Sigmar section, tournament organisers discuss the General's Handbook 2026–2027, while “Har Kuron: Seized by Shadow” takes the reader to what used to be Anvilgard — a city of gladiatorial arenas, death in the shadows and a serpent queen on the throne. It is accompanied by “The Kraken Awakens”, a mini campaign in which the Cities of Sigmar wage a guerrilla war against the Daughters of Khaine to retake the city.
