The Hasegawa 02497 kit depicts the two-seat F/A-18D Hornet operated by VMFA-115 “Silver Eagles” of the United States Marine Corps. The Hornet serves as the backbone of USMC tactical aviation, capable of performing air-to-air combat, ground attack, and close air support missions.
The F/A-18D variant features a tandem cockpit and is used for training and combat operations, including precision strike missions. Aircraft of VMFA-115 have taken part in numerous deployments and combat operations, making their markings well known among modern jet enthusiasts.
