Description

Plastic model kit of the Mitsubishi Ki-67 Type 4 Heavy Bomber Hiryu “Peggy” in 1:72 scale

The Hasegawa 02498 kit represents the Mitsubishi Ki-67 Hiryu, known to the Allies as “Peggy”, in the markings of the 74th Flight Regiment of the Imperial Japanese Army Air Force. Entering service in 1944, the Ki-67 was designed as a fast, well-protected heavy bomber capable of operating in high-threat environments.

Unlike many earlier Japanese bombers, the Hiryu featured armor protection, self-sealing fuel tanks, and strong defensive armament, while retaining good speed and handling. These qualities made it suitable for a wide range of missions, including level bombing, torpedo attacks, and special operations.

In the box you will find:

  • plastic parts to build the Mitsubishi Ki-67 in 1:72 scale
  • accurately shaped Hiryu bomber airframe
  • detailed cockpit and crew stations
  • defensive weaponry components
  • decals for 74th Flight Regiment markings
  • clear, illustrated assembly instructions

Model specifications:

  • Scale: 1:72
  • Wingspan: approx. 31.0 cm
  • Manufacturer: Hasegawa
  • Difficulty level: intermediate

Note: The kit does not include glue, paints, or modeling tools. The model is intended for self-assembly.

Due to the multi-engine design and interior details, careful step-by-step assembly with regular dry fitting is recommended. The kit is well suited for accurate painting and subtle weathering typical of late-war Japanese bombers.

Essential tools:

  • Hobby knife or sprue cutters
  • Files and sandpaper
  • Brushes
  • Plastic cement
  • Paint set for IJAAF WWII aircraft
