Description

Plastic model kit of the Boeing 737-800 Japan Airlines airliner in 1:200 scale

Hasegawa 10745 is a kit for self-assembly representing the narrow-body Boeing 737-800 airliner in the colours of the Japanese carrier Japan Airlines. The aircraft belongs to the Boeing 737 Next Generation family – one of the most popular families of commercial aircraft in the world.

The kit comprises 48 parts and includes decals with the Japan Airlines livery, including the distinctive Tsurumaru logo depicting a crane. The model works well as a collector's and display piece.

What's in the box:

  • Plastic sprues with fuselage and wing parts (48 parts)
  • Clear parts for the glazing
  • Waterslide decal sheet with the Japan Airlines livery and the Tsurumaru logo
  • Illustrated assembly instructions

Specifications:

  • Scale: 1:200
  • Catalogue number: 10745
  • Manufacturer: Hasegawa
  • Assembled length: approx. 197.5 mm, wingspan: approx. 179 mm
  • Difficulty level: beginner

Note: The kit does not include glue, paints or modelling tools. The model is intended for self-assembly.

Assembly:

The small number of parts makes the model accessible to less experienced modellers too. With airliners, the key is to achieve a smooth, even fuselage surface before applying the decals.

The fuselage is usually painted white, with the wings and engine nacelles in the appropriate colours; the instructions provide paint suggestions. For a clean result, a smooth gloss coat is recommended under the decals, which prevents decal silvering.

Tools required:

  • Modelling nippers for removing parts from the sprues
  • Modelling knife or scalpel
  • Files and sandpaper for cleaning up sprue-gate marks
  • Plastic cement
  • Brushes in various sizes
  • Modelling paints (acrylic or enamel)
  • A gloss varnish as a base under the decals
