Asano Racing Service Starlet KP61 – 1982 Starlet Grand Cup Champion – Plastic Model Kit in 1/24 Scale – Hasegawa
This kit represents the Toyota Starlet KP61 that competed in and won the 1982 Starlet Grand Cup under Asano Racing Service. The KP61 was a lightweight, rear-wheel-drive hatchback that quickly became a favorite in local Japanese touring and club racing events. This 1/24 scale model accurately captures its compact profile and classic race livery from the early 1980s.
Kit includes:
- Plastic sprues for assembly
- Decals for Asano Racing Service livery
- Instructions with painting and assembly guide
Note: Kit does not include glue, paints, or tools. Assembly required.

About the Toyota Starlet KP61:
The KP61 was the first hatchback generation of the Toyota Starlet, produced from 1978 to 1984. Equipped with a 1.3L 4K-U engine and rear-wheel drive, it became popular in grassroots motorsports thanks to its light weight, simplicity, and easy tunability. Race versions like the one modeled here pushed power up to around 130 hp.
