Meng SPS094 is a set of turned metal parts that replace the plastic front fork in Meng's 1:9 scale BMW M 1000 RR kits - MT009 and MT009S. Once installed, the fork remains fully functional: it compresses under load, just like the suspension of the real motorcycle.

The upside-down front fork is one of the most eye-catching parts of a sport bike - its smooth, polished stanchions sit right at the viewer's eye level. Turned metal gives them a finish and shine that no injection-moulded part can match. The metal colour matches the original finish, so the parts require no painting.

Turned metal parts - upgrading the most visible details of the model

Lathe turning delivers a perfectly round cross-section, a smooth surface and crisp edges - qualities unattainable in an injection-moulded part, where a parting line always has to be sanded and polished away. On fork stanchions, chromed or anodised on the real machine, the difference is immediately apparent.

A further benefit of this set is that it stays movable: the fork compresses, so the model can be posed dynamically, or you can simply enjoy a mechanism that works like the original. Use cyanoacrylate glue to fit the metal parts - metal does not bond with plastic cement. Dry-fitting before final assembly is worthwhile, taking care not to lock up the suspension mechanism with excess glue.

About the motorcycle - BMW M 1000 RR:

The BMW M 1000 RR is the most track-focused production motorcycle in the Bavarian manufacturer's range - the first machine to carry the M designation, previously reserved for BMW's top-tier cars.
