Analog or digital control – what to choose?

Digital systems allow independent control of multiple locomotives on the same track. Constant voltage is applied to the rails while commands are sent individually to each locomotive. This enables advanced operations including sound and lighting effects. In contrast, analog systems control all locomotives together via track voltage alone, limiting realism.

About the ET41 locomotive:

The ET41 is a distinctive dual-section electric locomotive developed to haul heavy freight trains, particularly coal. It was created by permanently coupling two EU07 units, and was manufactured by Pafawag in Wrocław between 1977 and 1983. A total of 200 locomotives were built and deployed across Poland's industrial regions.

With its powerful traction capabilities and robust construction, the ET41 became a workhorse of Polish heavy freight, especially on the coal lines of Upper Silesia. Many units have been modernized and continue to serve under the PKP Cargo brand, often featuring updated liveries like the one shown in this model.

The ET41 remains one of the most recognizable freight locomotives in Poland. Its massive dual-body design and operational reliability make it an icon of Polish rail freight and a favorite among railway enthusiasts and collectors.
