This RS Models kit reproduces the German DFS 230 glider, one of the most important airborne assault and transport aircraft used by the Luftwaffe. Lightweight and capable of extremely short landing runs, the DFS 230 was designed to deliver assault teams and equipment directly onto the battlefield. The model captures the aircraft’s distinctive lattice-frame fuselage, cockpit glazing, and wing structure.

About the DFS 230 glider
The DFS 230 was a light assault and transport glider used extensively by the German Luftwaffe. Designed to carry eight fully equipped troops or an equivalent cargo load, it played a major role in early German airborne operations. Its most famous mission was the assault on the Belgian fort Eben-Emael in 1940. The glider remained in service throughout the war, supporting airborne, resupply, and special operations.
