Revell 03747 recreates the Boeing C-17A Globemaster III — a four-engine heavy strategic and tactical transport. Despite the 1:144 scale, the finished model is impressive in size (over 35 cm long and wide) and in detail, with finely rendered skin panels and four engines.

The model offers several display options: the rear cargo ramp can be fitted open to reveal the detailed hold, and the landing gear can be built extended (on the ground) or retracted (aircraft in flight).

Building the model:

The model is intended for modellers with some experience. The paint schemes for both options are based on the uniform greys typical of military transports — the instructions give specific paint codes. If you plan to display the ramp open, it is worth painting the cargo-hold interior before closing up the fuselage. Decals are best applied over a gloss coat, with the model finished in satin or matt.

The Boeing C-17A Globemaster III is a heavy transport able to carry large loads over long distances while operating from short, semi-prepared runways.
