Description

Plastic model kit of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-10 "Erla" fighter in 1:32 scale

Revell 63752 recreates the Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-10 in the version produced by the Erla works in Leipzig — one of the last and technically most refined versions of the Bf 109 family. It is characterised by a roomy, streamlined canopy giving better visibility and the sleek silhouette of a late "Gustav". It comes as a paint-inclusive Model Set.

The model offers a detailed cockpit, movable control surfaces and landing gear that can be built extended or retracted. The decal sheet allows you to build one of two aircraft.

What's in the box:

  • Plastic parts with the distinctive Erla-type canopy
  • Detailed cockpit with instrument panel
  • Movable control surfaces and landing gear for an extended or retracted build
  • Decal sheet for 2 marking options
  • Paints, glue and a brush (paint-inclusive set)
  • Illustrated assembly instructions

Model specifications:

  • Scale: 1:32
  • Catalogue number: 63752
  • Manufacturer: Revell
  • Assembled length: approx. 28.4 cm; wingspan: approx. 31 cm
  • Number of parts: 147
  • Difficulty: intermediate/advanced

Gift set: includes the modelling paints, glue and brush needed to assemble and paint the model.

Building the model:

This is a detailed model for experienced modellers, even though as a paint-inclusive set it contains all the necessary materials. The cockpit alone consists of a dozen-plus parts — paint and assemble it before closing the fuselage halves. Grey-blue mottled schemes are typical of late Bf 109s; the Hartmann option is set apart by distinctive markings on a light background. Apply decals over a gloss coat and finish the model in satin, bringing out the detail with a subtle wash.

Useful tools (to complement what's in the set):

  • Modelling side cutters for removing parts from the sprues
  • Hobby knife or scalpel
  • Files and sandpaper for cleaning up sprue gate marks
  • Optionally, extra paints and a wash to deepen the effects

About the aircraft – Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-10:

The Messerschmitt Bf 109 is one of the most famous fighters of the Second World War, produced in numerous versions throughout the war. The G-10 version appeared in the final phase of the war and combined a "Gustav"-series airframe with the powerful Daimler-Benz DB 605 D engine, making it one of the fastest versions of the whole family.

Aircraft built by the Erla works were distinguished by a smoothed silhouette and a distinctive, roomy canopy (sometimes wrongly called the "Galland hood") that gave better visibility. The Bf 109 G-10 served with units on the western and southern fronts; this scheme reproduces, among others, an aircraft associated with the most successful fighter ace in history.

Specifications of the original (Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-10):

  • Length: approx. 8.95 m
  • Wingspan: approx. 9.9 m
  • Height: approx. 2.6 m
  • Take-off weight: approx. 3,400 kg
  • Crew: 1
  • Powerplant: Daimler-Benz DB 605 D, approx. 1,850 hp (with MW 50 boost)
  • Top speed: approx. 690 km/h
  • Armament: engine-mounted cannon and two 13 mm MG 131 machine guns
  • Production of the G-10 version: from autumn 1944

About the manufacturer – Revell:

Revell is one of the most recognisable model brands in the world, with roots reaching back to the 1940s; the European arm of the company operates from Germany. The brand offers a broad range of plastic model kits across many scales — aircraft, military vehicles, cars, ships and space subjects — alongside paints, glues, tools and gift sets. Revell kits are graded on a five-level difficulty scale, which makes it easy to match a kit to a modeller's experience. New releases and reissues of classic tooling appear every month. The kits are known for clear, multilingual instructions and accessible engineering, which makes the brand popular with beginners and experienced modellers alike.
