This model represents the PtL 2/2 tank steam locomotive, commonly known as the “Glaskasten”, of the Royal Bavarian State Railways. It was designed for operation on branch lines, hauling light passenger and freight trains. The model features authentic livery with fine lining and a distinctive compact design.

About the PtL 2/2 “Glaskasten”:
The PtL 2/2 was one of the most distinctive local steam locomotives in Bavaria. Its unusual design with large cab windows gave it the nickname “Glaskasten” (glass box). It was specifically designed for light duties on branch lines.
With an output of around 210 hp and a nominal top speed of 40 km/h, it was well suited for local services, although higher speeds were reportedly achieved in practice. Its simplicity and reliability made it a well-known and recognizable locomotive type.
