The Pt 2/3 class locomotives were light tank engines designed for passenger services on Bavarian branch lines. Their distinctive features included a slender boiler, a large distance between the leading axle and the driving wheels, and a relatively spacious cab.

They were built between 1909 and 1916 by Krauss in Munich and could reach speeds of up to 65 km/h. These locomotives played an important role in local passenger transport in Bavaria.
