A model of the electric locomotive 1750 of the Dutch operator Rail Force One. The H0 model reproduces the Era VI condition in the digital version with sound, in the current company livery.

The model stands out for its roof air conditioning, pantographs with an innovative mounting and many separately fitted detail parts, partly produced in etched technique. In digital mode, switchable head/tail lights and cab lighting are available. The model was produced in cooperation with Railcolor Design.

The model is produced in the digital (DC Digital) version with a factory-fitted sound decoder (PluX22). To make full use of the running, sound and lighting functions, a digital DCC command station is required. If you also intend to run the model on analogue (direct-current) power, make sure that analogue mode is enabled in the decoder (bit 2 in CV29) – running the model on DC voltage with analogue mode switched off may damage the decoder. The model is not a starter set and does not include track or a controller.

Model railways – digital or analogue control?

A digital DCC system lets you control several locomotives independently on the same track at a constant rail voltage, whereas in an analogue system all vehicles on a given circuit respond simultaneously to changes in the supply voltage. The model described here is supplied in the digital version, with a factory-fitted decoder and sound, ready for operation on a DCC system.

About the class 1750 locomotive (Rail Force One):

The Dutch class 1700 locomotives were built by Alstom (GEC-Alsthom) between 1990 and 1994 in a quantity of 81 units (numbers 1701–1781). In design terms they derive from the French BB 7200 locomotives and are a development of the earlier Dutch class 1600. They are four-axle locomotives with a B'B' wheel arrangement, supplied with 1.5 kV direct current.

The Dutch operator Rail Force One acquired six locomotives from Locon Nederland in 2017. The reproduced example – electric locomotive 1750 – received the current company colours in the summer of 2025.
