Roden 351 - 1:144 Convair XC-99

1:144 scale build kit of the Convair XC-99 heavy transport aircraft

This Roden 351 kit portrays the one-off Convair XC-99, a huge American transport aircraft from the late 1940s developed from the B-36. In 1:144 scale it reproduces the double-deck fuselage and the distinctive six pusher propellers.

About the Convair XC-99:

The XC-99 was the largest piston-engined land transport ever built. First flown in 1947 and delivered in 1949, it could carry up to 100,000 lb of cargo or 400 troops on two decks. Powered by six Pratt & Whitney R-4360 Wasp Major engines with pusher propellers, the sole XC-99 served until 1957. Today it is preserved within the NMUSAF collection and stored at AMARG awaiting future restoration.
