About the IJN Musashi battleship:

IJN Musashi was the second ship of the Yamato class, the largest battleships ever commissioned. Launched in 1940 and commissioned in 1942, she initially served as the flagship of the Combined Fleet. Armed with nine 460 mm main guns, she represented the peak of Japanese naval power. Musashi participated in several Pacific operations, and in October 1944 was sunk during the Battle of Leyte Gulf after massive air attacks by U.S. carrier aircraft. Her loss, together with that of Yamato, marked the decline of the battleship era.
