1:48 scale plastic model kit of the Yak-7B late version Soviet fighter
The Zvezda 4837 kit depicts the Yakovlev Yak-7B, a late-production variant of the Soviet World War II fighter. Originally derived from the Yak-7UTI trainer, it was converted into a capable single-seat combat aircraft with improved armament and engine performance. The Yak-7B became one of the most important Red Army Air Force fighters during 1942–1943.

The Yak-7B was a single-seat fighter designed by Alexander Yakovlev’s design bureau. Powered by a Klimov M-105PF engine delivering 1,180 hp, it could reach speeds of around 600 km/h. Armed with one 20 mm ShVAK cannon and two 12.7 mm UBS machine guns, it proved to be a durable and agile aircraft, effective against Luftwaffe fighters like the Bf 109. It later gave way to the improved Yak-9 but remained a key step in Soviet fighter development.
