Description

AK Interactive Bracken – laser-cut leaves for 1:35 and 1:32 dioramas

AK Interactive 8136 is a set of laser-cut bracken leaves — a tall, vigorous fern that covers clearings, woodland edges, heathland and slopes. The finely shaped, spreading fronds let you recreate dense, wild thickets surrounding a vehicle, ruins or a figure base, giving the scene a vivid, natural character.

The leaves are CO2 laser-cut from paper, so they keep thin edges and a clear outline — in scale they look lighter and more natural than thicker cast elements. Their size is tailored mainly to 1:35 and 1:32, but they can also be used in 1:48 projects and with 54, 75 and 90 mm figures.

Laser-cut diorama vegetation – natural scenery detail

Laser-cut bracken fronds are a scenery material that lets you recreate overgrown vegetation in a way that is hard to achieve with injection-moulded parts or ready-made trees. Once cut, the thin paper keeps delicate edges, and individual leaves can be bent, layered and combined with other materials (static grass, scatter, twigs) to build multi-level, realistic growth.

For the best effect it is worth lightly tinting or shading the cut leaves with acrylics and washes before mounting, varying the shades of green — natural vegetation is never a single, uniform colour. Prepared this way, the fronds work both for dense, overgrown scenes and as single accents surrounding a vehicle or ruins.

How to use:

Fix the leaves in place using a small amount of white glue, diluted white glue or AK118 Gravel & Sand Fixer. It is best to apply the glue sparingly and build the foliage up in layers, letting each layer dry — this keeps the density under control and avoids flooding the detail. Fine tweezers make it easier to position the small elements.
