Surface masking liquids are a popular specific used in modeling.

They are most often used to protect transparent parts from being painted with an airbrush paint stream. They can also be used to mask subsequent colors when painting camouflage stains. Masking liquids are applied with a brush or toothpick - they darken as they dry. They adhere well to the surface on which they are applied. Their removal is recommended on rubbing with a finger until they begin to come off. In nooks and crannies and concave details you may need to use a toothpick or similar tool to remove them fully. Masking fluids do not react with plastic and should not react with properly applied paint on the model. Good quality masking fluids will not leave any residue on plastic or paint after removal. If necessary, the fluid can be diluted with water. Tools should be washed before the fluid dries, then only mechanical removal of the dried masking film is possible.

    • Avoid contact with skin. In case of contact with skin, remove contaminated clothing. Wash skin with soap and water or other cleanser. NEVER use solvents or thinners.
    • Do not breathe dust/fume/gas/mist/vapour/spray. Use in well-ventilated areas.
    • Do not smoke or consume food and drink in the area where the product is used.
    • Keep the container tightly closed.
    • Store in a well-ventilated, cool place, away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources. No smoking. Take measures to prevent electrostatic discharge. Do not use tools that may cause sparks.
    • Dispose of packaging in accordance with local regulations.
