Academy 15400 reproduces the KAI T-50B Golden Eagle in the distinctive black, white and yellow livery of the Black Eagles display team. It belongs to the 4D Kit series (sold in Korea as the 4D Color Kit), conceived as a quick and accessible route from box to finished model.

The parts are pre-coloured and snap together, so no glue or paint is needed to complete the aircraft. The kit contains a small number of components (approx. 20–40) and the difficulty level is very low — the manufacturer recommends it from age 8. The model is ready for display as soon as it is assembled.

Assembly:

The build relies on snap-fit connections and the parts are coloured at the factory, so glue and paint are not required. The components simply need to be separated and assembled following the illustrated instructions; it is worth cleaning up the sprue gate marks, as small burrs can show on both the light and dark surfaces.

Modellers who want to push the realism further can paint the model — the cockpit, intakes and exhaust nozzle in particular — or bring out the panel lines and recesses with a wash. This is a suggestion rather than a requirement: the kit is designed to look good with no extra work at all.

About the aircraft – KAI T-50B Golden Eagle:

The T-50 Golden Eagle is a supersonic advanced trainer and light combat aircraft developed by Korea Aerospace Industries in cooperation with Lockheed Martin. The T-50B variant was prepared for display flying and entered service with the 53rd Air Demonstration Group of the Republic of Korea Air Force, known as the Black Eagles.

The team converted to the T-50B from the A-37B in 2009, with the new aircraft making their public debut in 2010. The Black Eagles fly in a striking black, white and yellow scheme and regularly appear at air shows outside Korea, where they have become one of the better-known display teams.
