Ammo Mig 7732 is a complete set of products (Solution Box) for painting and ageing aircraft with natural-metal or metallic finishes. Many aircraft types kept a bare metal construction finish or were painted silver or in other metallic tones — from the P-51 Mustang, P-38 Lightning, B-29, Ju 52, F-86 Sabre, F-104 Starfighter and BAC Lightning to post-war Soviet aircraft (MiG-15, MiG-17, MiG-19, MiG-21) and the Tu-95 and Tu-142 bombers.

The set lets you reproduce metallic base colours, apply weathering effects to metal surfaces and add dirt to selected areas of the model. Most of the techniques described are optional — the modeller decides on the range and intensity of the effects by varying each layer, achieving any level of wear. Following the application order and drying times given in the guide makes it easier to reach a consistent result.

What the set lets you do

The kit brings together matched products for painting metallic skin in different metal tones (aluminium, steel, silver, gun metal), varying the panels, emphasising panel lines with PLW washes, applying a filter and shaders, and adding streaks and grime with the streaking brushers and pigment. The gloss and matt varnishes let you protect the surface and even out the finish.

The Solution Book 27 guide walks through the whole process step by step. The example model is the Tamiya 1:48 P-51D Mustang, but the techniques and products can be used on any aircraft with a metallic finish.
